Playful Striped Shawl to Knit

#7. Playful Striped Shawl Free Knitting Pattern

Playful is a fun and straightforward two-colour garter stitch shawl. Simply choose two beautiful skeins of fingering/4 ply yarn and you’re ready to cast on!

The shawl is worked flat in one piece from the top right corner across and downwards. Two increases at the beginning and one decrease at the end of every RS row creates an asymmetric triangular shape.

The size of the shawl can be adjusted to suit the amount of yarn you have.

Be Simple Shawl Free Knitting Pattern

#8. Be Simple Shawl Free Knitting Pattern

Be Simple Shawl is an asymmetrical, triangular shawl that is simple to knit and simple to wear. Knit in garter stitch with yarn-overs every eight rows, the finished shawl is a light and airy shawl with either a plain or picot bind-off.

The shawl can be knit in a variety of yarn weights with the appropriate needle size to create your desired drape. I have knit the shawl in several different fingering weight yarns. DK or worsted weight would work as well with the appropriate larger size needles. Circular needles work best to accommodate the ever increasing number of stitches. In most cases, the shawls required 400-450 yards of yarn.

This is a perfect one-skein project for many fingering and sock weight yarns.
